2010 Christmas Tree Sale Update This update is intended to not only communicate to all how successful our 2010 Christmas Tree Sale was but to also Thank those that took time from their busy lives to volunteer and set up for the sale, help with the tree delivery, sell trees, and then break down the tree sale area. We had some unexpected events alter out overall plans as well as effect the amount of profit made for the various charities. We were forced to purchase wood to reconstruct new tree stanchions for the sale due to the age of our old tree stanchions and the early wet weather we had. This in addition to the fact that we only ordered 151 trees this year as opposed to 200 last year netted us a lower profit margin. Having said this, we did have a successful sale allowing us to subsidize the cost needed by Past Grand Knight Bill Courtney to again feed the homeless on Christmas Eve Day, donate a substantial amount of money for our annual commitment of sponsoring a family in need during the Christmas Holiday which was successfully orchestrated by Brother Ken Bransfield, and still have enough profit to donate $1000.00 to the Paramus Veteran's Home. This event could not have been a success without the help of many; such as our Brother Knights, youth within our community, and the patience of family members that had to endure time without their husbands, fathers, sons, etc. I would also like to Thank Glenn Pond Nursery and The Artistic Flower Box for selling us quality trees, wreaths and grave blankets, and for making the selling experience easier for us all.
